Feel like your losing your Self?
Do you swing from feeling guilty to feeling resentful? Struggle with feeling hurt that people will never care for you like you do them? Sped up and anxious with periodic crash outs? Feel like there’s always an immovable barrier keeping you from your goals for bettering yourself? Then you are my specialty client.
In session you can expect me to cultivate your goals and strengths with you, carefully track your stories and the meaning you imbue with them, and skillfully select tools to help if you feel stuck. Creating space and time for you to circle back to yourself is sacred, and I will protect it. But not uptight. Like, I could have a coffee stain on my shirt.
I have just over 15 years of clinical experience and am most known for my work with adult survivors of childhood abuse.
I use evidence-based psychotherapeutic strategies (EMDR/parts work and somatic work) for the following issues:
grief and existential issues (I mean who isn’t in an existential crisis right now?). I use my background in hospice and as an academic in the field of coping and spirituality/religion to walk you through deconstruction, finding meaning, and utilizing self directed ritual to facilitate healing and change.
Chronic pain and disease also can be more prevalent in the populations I work with. I use my background in medical social work (hospice/home health) and my training in functional/integratives strategies to support bodies experiencing chronic stress (female hormone issues and immune disorder specialties).
Psychedelic assisted psychotherapy isn’t for everyone, but these strategies are safe and provide powerful breakthroughs for clients who have been appropriately screened, prepared, and guided through the process. I have over a decade of psychedelic assisted coaching experience, and I have training from clinical and indigenous settings. This is my super specialty.
Most importantly I’ve been there. I was hospitalized with severe mental illness in my teens and many professionals had the bar set pretty low on how much I might recover. I learned how to fly over the bar, and I deeply believe in each human being’s potential to do so. I’ve learned to grow wings and I’m so ready to share.
Much love,
Melissa Lentine, LCSW
